Radiation Therapist to join our growing team.

In this role the Sr.

Radiation Therapist participates in the coordination of radiation treatment delivery and planning processes for radiation oncology patients at Rush University Medical Center.

Incumbent must function as a leader in supervising and overseeing daily treatment and simulation activities.

Professional competency, strong interpersonal skills, leadership, initiative and good judgment in problem solving are essential to the position.

Enforce compliance with all policies, standard operating procedures, and regulations related to routine operations.

Position Responsibilities: Utilizes radiation and other equipment in planning and administering radiation treatments to cancer patients.

Accurately sets treatment parameters Administers and records treatment Utilizes the simulator to plan patient treatments Interprets computerized treatment plans Enters and maintains information in the clinical information management system Performs warm-up and QA on the treatment unit Obtains beam films of treatment area Maintains work area according to departmental policy.

Adheres to universal precautions Interacts with patients, staff, visitors and all others with an appropriate customer service orientation Position Qualifications Include: Must be a graduate of an accredited program in Radiation Therapy Technology.

3 years of experience working as a radiation therapist in a progressive radiation oncology department required Bachelor’s degree desired.

Must hold Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Knowledge, use and care of therapeutic radiation equipment.

Attention to detail, precision, accuracy and professionalism.

Ability to travel between Rush Oak Park is required Licenses or Certifications: Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a radiation therapist and continuing education is required.
