Job Title: Speech Pathologist (NICU) Department: Speech Language Pathology Shift: 1st Specialty: Job Number: 2019-1988 Date Posted: 06/24/2019 Position Type: Rehabilitation Therapies Job Qualifications: The Department of Speech Language Pathology is expanding patient services We are seeking an experience, self-directed and highly motivated Speech Language Pathologist to join our Speech Language Pathology team at Rush University Medical Center Position Highlights: Speech-Language pathologists work closely with specialists from other disciplines to provide the best possible care for even the most challenging cases Provides primarily adult speech language pathology specific treatments, modalities, diagnostic tests for adults.

Position Responsibilities: Effectively administers and interprets diagnostic testing for inpatients and outpatients, related to speech pathology.

Recommends therapeutic plan based on assessments.

Provides targeted therapies in consultation with physicians and other professionals.

Position Qualifications Include: Minimum of a Master’s level degree and holds or is eligible for Illinois licensure in Speech Language Pathology Minimum of 3 year post Fellow experience is required Hospital based experience is critical and required for this position Must have training in VFSS and adult swallowing/communication disorders.

Dysphagia and tracheostomy/speaking valves experience is highly desired Must be available to work Friday, Saturday and Sunday Intermediate to advanced level of clinical skills, with advanced competence in specialty areas.

Possess excellent problem solving skills and analytic ability to appropriately diagnose clients’ problems and develop rehabilitation plans Ability to approach each situation with an open mind and positive attitude; ability to work and interact well with others so that customer service remains a priority Capable of handling a busy, varying caseload; possess good organizational skills Company Highlights: Ranked among the top academic medical centers in the country, Rush University Medical Center is an outstanding place to enhance your career.
