Description – External

Primary responsibilities include providing managerial oversight for the Emergency Department at Georgetown Community Hospital.  Will provide assistance to Market Director as needed at Bluegrass Community Hospital.  The Clinical Manager will provide accountability for patient and staff satisfaction and ensuring quality clinical care of all patients.

  • Ability to handle difficult situations involving patients, physicians, or others in a professional manner

Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions

  • Working irregular hours including on call hours
  • Physically demanding, high-stress environment
  • Exposure to blood and body fluids, communicable diseases, chemicals, radiation and repetitive motions
  • Pushing and pulling heavy objects, ability to lift 50 pounds

Essential Functions:

  • Promotes the mission, vision and values of the organization
  • Support policies, procedures, philosophy and objectives of the hospital.
  • Oversee the daily workflow, staffing, orientation, training and developing employees within the department
  • Monitors ongoing quality/performance improvement processes
  • Promote and support a collaborative team approach in providing care to all patients
  • Monitor patient satisfaction scores and implements plans to improve them
  • Monitor patient volumes, quality of care and performance of staff to identify areas of improvement
  • Responsible for investigating patient and staff complaints and concerns and works to resolve them
  • Complete annual performance evaluation for self and employees and implement plans of correction when needed
  • Use problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to foster effective work relationships with team members
  • Maintain required competencies within time allotted for self and employees within the department
  • Pursue professional growth and participates in a professional organization
  • Assist Market Director as needed, perform other duties as required.

Job Requirements:


  • Unencumbered Kentucky RN license
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
  • CEN certification required (or to be obtained within 6 months of hire)
  • 3-5 years ER experience with management experience preferred.
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • TNCC
