Job Summary You will work with the Assay Development group in the R&D division.
Our group focuses on molecular assay development including nucleic acid isolation, purification, amplification, and labeling technologies.
You will: Assist scientists in performing experiments following specific procedures related to bacterial stock preparation, sample preparation, nucleic acid extraction, and amplification.
Prepare and QC reagents.
Participate in product development related activities such as assay verification and guard banding studies.
Maintain thorough records and experimental documentation.
Occasionally, the role may require shifting work hours into evening.
Education and Experience BS or MS in biology, microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry or related fields with up to 2+ years lab experience.
Experience with nucleic acid amplification (such as PCR) and nucleic acid extraction from clinical samples highly desired.
Detail-oriented, careful, and organized.
Demonstrated ability to work in a research team and generate high quality experimental data.
Ability to think critically.
Experience in or comfortable with working in BSL2 environment.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic R&D environment.
