Surgical Unit Highlights: 40 bed unit located in the new tower at Methodist Stone Oak Patient to Nurse Ratio: 1:5; 1:6 with PCT support Caring for a variety of surgical patients to include: Orthopedic General Surgical (Abdominal, prostatectomies, nephrectomies, bowel resections, wound vacs, drain placements, etc.) Majority of the surgeries seen are elective This team received the Methodist Cup in 2016 for maintaining top quartile patience experience scores for 1 year!

The unit experiences a quick patient turnaround One of the few departments that has the Visi Mobile monitoring system a wireless device that the patient wears continuously to monitor their vital signs.

This is a very fast paced unit that thrives on their excellent team work skills and positive attitudes.

As a professional Registered Nurse (RN) at Methodist, you would serve as an advocate for the patient and their family.

If you have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or certification in your specialty area you will be considered more highly qualified and eligible for our RN IV position.

You should possess your RN License to practice as a professional RN in the state of Texas or an Active Multi-State RN Compact License.

If you have a Compact License you will be required to obtain a Texas RN License within 90 days of hire.
