Job Summary Purpose of the Radiology Service Technician – Specialist position is to provide technical & On-Call support on the analysis, maintenance, calibration, installation, and upgrades on all assigned Diagnostic Imaging equipment.

Demonstrates technical support for all modalities of Diagnostic Imaging, and conducts safety inspections for the institution and to meet regulatory guidelines.

This position works under minimal supervision and maintains assigned Diagnostic Imaging equipment through the effective use of the Medical Equipment Management Plan.Job Description Job Description Minimum Qualifications Education: Associate’s degree in related field or equivalent Military Education Licenses/Certifications: OEM specific or equivalent training on specialty modalities Experience / Knowledge / Skills: 10 years of experience in maintaining Diagnostic Imaging equipment with a specialization in one or more modalities such as CT, MRI, Cardiovascular, or Nuclear Capable of performing all scheduled and corrective maintenance including installation of all parts and calibration of system after part install Expert knowledge of modality specialty capable of providing technical support to other DI engineers with less experience Advance Knowledge of Digital radiology systems and Computer networking and programming Advance Knowledge of Computer hardware and software to include Microsoft Office Suite Advance Knowledge of Industry standards and regulations Must have physical strength, proper coordination, and motor skills to perform assigned tasks Demonstrates commitment to the Partners-in-Caring process by integrating our culture in all internal and external customer interactions; delivers on our brand promise of “we advance health” through innovation, accountability, empowerment, collaboration, compassion and results while ensuring one Memorial Hermann.

Principal Accountabilities To meet regulatory and department guidelines through PM completion for diagnostic imaging equipment at 95% or above for each month.

To meet departmental goal for “Open Repair Work Order Average” to be less than 5 days.

To meet productivity goal of 85% of worked hours are documented in the database.

Provides maintenance & technical support for diagnostic imaging equipment including but not limited to Interventional Radiology (IR), Computerized Tomography (CT), Cath Lab, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Positron Emission Tomography (PET), Single-Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT), Nuclear medicine, & etc.

To meet established department guidelines and not exceed department over time limit each month.

Coordinates outside support activities with vendors and clients to obtain completion of equipment support activity and ensures all activities are documented.

Evaluates and recommends new ideas that improve Imaging equipment quality, safety, and service.

Maintains safe and clean workplace environment.

Demonstrates knowledge and behaviors related to environmental, employee, or patient safety requirements.

Participates in leading special projects, department champion opportunities, mentoring other department staff.

Participates in Annual Technical Competency to establish future training needs.

Coordinates Nursing In-service on equipment operational issues to reduce Operator Errors while improving patient quality of care.

Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.

Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
