The Quality Improvement Coordinator is responsible for organizing activities that foster exceptional revenue cycle performance outcomes specializing in the area of patient access/registration.

The QI Coordinator will audit account transactions and identify quality improvement, training, and educational opportunities.

The QI Coordinator will also coordinate improvement activities, participate in the development of policies and procedures, partner with area experts to develop standard work, create training content, conduct staff training and coaching, and compile performance reports.

Position Responsibilities: Conducts quality assurance audits, ensuring standardization and compliance with established policies and procedures and applicable regulations.

Prepares monthly plans with daily targets to meet established inspection volumes, accuracy levels, and critical deadlines.

Prepares and presents quality and productivity reports to revenue cycle leaders.

Identifies, researches, and documents process improvement opportunities and coordinates improvement activities and provides best practice coaching to staff.

Identifies and recommends workflows in need of standardization, convenes area experts, and coordinates improvement activities necessary to develop standards.

Identifies and recommends areas for staff education and prepares educational training materials.

Actively manages area training content.

Manages training curriculum for new hires and existing employees across revenue cycle.

Conducts training sessions for new hires and existing employees across revenue cycle.

Provides input for new or revisions to policies and procedures.

Participates on revenue cycle committees.

Position Qualifications Include: High school diploma/GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

At least three years of healthcare revenue cycle experience in patient access required.

Knowledge of end-to-end revenue cycle processes and understanding of healthcare terminology.

Familiarity with interdepartmental interactions as it relates to revenue cycle.

Knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of revenue cycle, finance, and accounting.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong project management skills.

Ability to present in front of large groups.

Professionalism and the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at once.

Strong knowledge of Epic functionality.

Strong working knowledge of Windows-based software applications.

Self-starter, independent thinker, and collaborative team player.
