Description SHIFT: Days (rotating weekends) SCHEDULE: Full-time Eastside Medical Center Snellville, GA Charge Nurse (RN) Progressive Care Unit Eastside is a 310-bed, full-service, acute care medical center with nearly 1,200 employees and 450 affiliated physicians.

The Progressive Care Unit at Eastside Medical Center: The Progressive Care unit bridges the gap between the Intensive Care unit and the Medical-Surgical units, providing high intensity nursing care.

The Progressive Care unit is the designated stroke unit for Eastside Medical Center.

Progressive Care/Cardiac Step-Down is a 24 bed fast-paced unit delivering specialized nursing care to a variety of patients with diagnoses, including but not limited to, Stroke, Congestive heart failure, COPD, GI disorders, Respiratory compromise and Sepsis.

Registered nurses, physicians from many specialties and many other healthcare professionals collaborate to form a diagnosis, treatment and discharge plan for each individual patient.

Eastside Medical Center is currently looking for a Charge Nurse (RN) Progressive Care/Cardiac Step-Down FT Days.

Responsibilities: Demonstrates responsibility for all nursing care delivered on the shift.

Coordinates assignments and provides resources for nursing care.

Ensures that the patient care assignments record is complete and nursing care is completed.

Assesses the skills of the staff and the needs of the patients while making nursing care assignments.

Reinforces and supports unit and organizational goals.

Provides input to Director/Coordinator on performance of the team members on assigned shift.

Bases decisions on sound nursing judgment and meets nursing standards of care.

Assists in education development of staff members.

Understands hospital Patient Satisfaction and Customer Relations programs and the priority placed on daily interaction of all employees with respect to hospital mission and shared values.

Manages concerns of patients, physicians, families, visitors, and all customers.

Communicates with the nursing supervisor, Clinical Coordinates, or Director regarding concerns and issues encountered on the shift.

Possesses leadership skills to lead, teach, guide, and assist, in the evaluation of staff on the shift.

Provides or coordinates preceptorship of new employees and students.

Assists in ongoing staff development; can assess limitations of employees and provide appropriate clinical experience and educational opportunities.

Assists in cross-training of employees within the department.

Accepts responsibility of position and demonstrates authority to direct employees.

Provides follow-up on performance issues and provides timely feedback to improve knowledge and skills of employees.

Responsible for the observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care.

Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served.

Promotes customer service initiatives.

Documents all patient care using Meditech.

Qualifications Qualifications: Previous two years of experience preferred Outstanding customer service abilities and effective listening skills Graduate of accredited School of Nursing with a current GA RN license BLS Certification required within 90 days of hire or promotion ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire or promotion ARMY MOS 66W or 66N Air Force AFSC 46NX and 46FX
