Pps Coordinator (rn Only)/rehab/mmc/ft/8a-5p

This is a Contract position in Mcallen, TX posted May 26, 2019.

Under the supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation Services the ?Rehab PPS / admissions coordinator coordinates the completion and transmission of the Inpatient Rehab Facility Patient Assessment Instrument (IRF-PAI) with interdisciplinary team members accurately and within appropriate time frames and manages, plans and organizes the Rehab patient?s admission process.?

He/she works collaboratively with the team to optimize patient outcomes and maximize reimbursement for the organization.

He/she is responsible for the education of staff regarding the application of the Functional Independence Measure (FIM) its monitoring and implementation.

Assists with the collection of data and interpretation of performance improvement oucome information.

Coordinates all patient information to be submitted to CMS and other insurance and regulatory agencies.

?Responsible for monitoring patient charges for correct coding and compliance with CNS guidelines.Perform regular chart audits to ensure quality documentation.

Communicate with team members and educate team members in any area of the CMS guidelines that require such.

Assists with assigned administrative duties, i.e.

patient rounding.

Job Requirements 1.

Current RN licensure in the State of Texas 2.

Must have at least two (2) years clinical experience in medical or physical rehab setting.


Experience with IRF-PAI or MDS preferred.


Good communication and organizational skills with well developed written and verbal communication abilities.


Demonstrated public relation abilities with cooperative and assertive attitude.


Working knowledge of Medicare guidelines for Rehabilitation.


Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS?s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.
