This is made evident by our motto, “Changing lives, one student at a time.” Visit our University blog at to the Nursing Program Coordinator, including having consultation with the Dean, School of Nursing, and each Campus’s Program Director and Associate Program Director, School of Nursing the Nursing Clinical Coordinator is responsible for managing and maintain Stratford University’s Clinical Sites, for nursing students on each campus for the Nursing Program such that the students are able to meet the educational requirements.

This is a heavily administrative role within Stratford University’s School of Nursing.

The Nursing Clinical Coordinator works as a part of a team, partnering with the Nursing Operation Coordinator and the Nursing Scheduler Coordinator.

The Nursing Clinical Coordinator acts a liaison between the School of Nursing and the University’s Clinical Sites.

This role is responsible for the onboarding of new faculty, creation of faculty files, and managing the entire clinical site required documentation at the end of each term.

The Nursing Clinical Coordinator is responsible for complex communication and problem solving to maintain positive working relationships with a variety of contacts inside and outside of the school and University.

The Nursing Clinical Coordinator operates from a solid understanding of nursing education and practice, combined with knowledge of the organizational environments where nursing is a practice.Essential Job Functions:Affiliates+ Maintaining current affiliate list including contact info, accreditation, expiry date for contracts, needed documentation, etc+ Maintaining contracts – current and new (BSN), new for MSN and CNA – ensuring renewal when needed+ Help Lead with new affiliate contract information and processing when needed+ Reviewing and updating clinical site list each year in the Fall for COI renewal+ Maintain sharepoint Clinical Coordination folder including updated documentation blanks and site specificsFaculty+ Onboarding of all new clinical faculty –+ setting up training for adjunct at affiliates according to their specific parameters,+ scheduling of EMR training,+ Coordination of contact information for in-person unit orientations+ Coordinating with compliance coordinator to ensure castle branch set up+ Add all new faculty to clinical faculty database, nursys, and castlebranch if needed+ Maintain clinical faculty database+ Coordinate with leadership and scheduler each term regarding next term’s needs and assignments; communicate with clinical faculty their schedule, unit information, and any resources neededClinical Documentation+ Post clinical schedule with facility locations on student moodle board+ In week 6-7 begin clinical documentation – create attestations for all faculty and clinical groups for all affiliates+ Communicate with students to complete any onboarding for the facility they will be going to based on the moodle posting once schedule is set and clinical registration begins – send reminders at the beginning of week 8, 9, and 10+ Send any necessary documentation to novant, Sentara, CNMC that requires 3-4 weeks processing+ Send faculty attestations for INOVA as soon as they are confirmed+ Work with compliance coordinator to ensure student compliance for castle branch and onboarding.

Send 1st round of clinical student attestations in week 9 to all affiliates.+ Send updated clinical student attestations at the end of add/drop (or whenever decided no additional clinical student registrations will be processed)+ Work with lead to request clinical placements each semester for upcoming terms+ Create/review rotation schedules for multi-experience clinical sections+ Create capstone student list and pair with placements based on criteria+ Work with community health faculty to create schedule for experiences when neededEach term+ Attend nursing town halls and faculty meetings each term to answer questions+ Check own email and clinicals mailbox daily to respond to students and faculty in a timely manner.

Meet with coordinator team biweekly.+ Assisting scheduler in clinical section registration; checking reports against attestations, compliance list, onboarding check+ Assist their campus’s nursing director as needed/available.

Serve as resource for students on that campus.+ Serve on local campus committees, ensuring proper communication+ Support the Student Nursing Council faculty advisors when necessary+ Engaged and aware of courses and programs curriculum such that the mutual needs for students, curriculum and the community is served+ Participate in planning and scheduling of nursing program events including but not limited to the Pinning Ceremony and Program Advisory Committee meetingsThe Skills:+ Ability to complete tasks with a very high quality performance in a timely manner+ Demonstrated high level of organizational ability+ Demonstrated ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite+ High energy, outgoing personality and professional attitude+ Committed to quality service to students, faculty, and staff+ Good oral and written communication skills+ Willingness to work extra hours or weekends when necessaryRequired Education and Experience:+ Required Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University+ Knowledge and experience including but not limited to: an understanding of the educational experiences of student nurses, an ability to use the vocabulary of nursing and an understanding of the clinical practice of nursing+ Health care experience preferredThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
