Nurse RN – Stroke Navigator

This is a Full-time position in Jacksonville, FL posted September 15, 2021.

Job Opening Summary
This position provides nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process and standards of practice for a professional nurse.

Will be required to float between the Emergency Room downtown and Neuro ICU.

Responsible for responding to ED downtown, or any inpatient unit where a stroke alert is activated.

This does not include the TCU.

Must comply with all license, certification, and training requirements for stroke certification.

Expected to proactively round on assigned stroke patients, respond to all ED and IP stroke alerts, lead debriefings, and provide bedside education
Job Opening Qualifications
Required Education::
Associate’s Degree.

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

New hires effective June 14, 2017, must have a BSN degree from an accredited school of nursing within three (3) years of hire or transfer into the position.

New hires or transfers into in the position between August 1, 2013 and June 13, 2017 must abide with the conditions in his or her offer letter and the verbiage in the job description signed upon hire or transfer into the position.

Current employees who were hired or transferred into the position prior to August 1, 2013 will be grandfathered.
Preferred Education::
Required Licensure/Certification::
Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Florida
BLS from American Heart Association
ACLS from the American Heart Association
NIHSS certification within 6 months of date of hire / transfer
Preferred Licensure/Certification::
Professional Certification Preferred
Required Experience::
3-5 years of critical care / ICU / ED registered nurse experience
Necessary Skills:

Adheres to hospital and Florida Nurse Practice Act guidelines in providing patient care.

Proficient in ACLS guidelines

Excellent written and verbal communication

Demonstrates the ability to learn and apply computer technologies and procedures that affect patient care delivery.
