We are seeking an experienced, self-directed and highly motivated Medical Technologist to join our Laboratory Core Lab team at Rush University Medical Center 3rd Shift Position Highlights: The Medical Technologist utilizes the latest advancements in technology and instrumentation to deliver healthcare providers with timely and accurate results.

The RUMC Core Laboratory is a teaching facility, as such, this position aids in the educational development of Medical Laboratory Science students and Pathology residents.

Position Responsibilities: Performs required QC procedures and preventive maintenance, including corrective action and documentation, for all procedures and instrumentation.

Suggests new ideas and approaches in the workplace.

Meets turnaround time expectations by prioritizing and organizing daily workload 90% of the time.

Reports accurate results.

Acts as “tech-in-charge” for specified periods of time by solving moderately complex problems and overseeing basic as well as moderately complex, laboratory operations.

Refers highly complex issues to appropriate personnel.

Reviews appropriate computer generated reports at the appropriate time.

Position Qualifications Include: Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Science and/or relevant science required.

ASCP Certification or eligible required Current knowledge of medical and laboratory terminology strongly preferred.

Two or more years of laboratory bench experience is strongly preferred.
