Medical Office Administrator

This is a Contract position in Sandusky, OH posted May 15, 2019.

Leimkuehler Orthotic & Prosthetic Center is looking for a qualified candidate to join on team.

We are a family owned company that has been providing care for over 70 years.

The position is a full time medical administrator for our Sandusky Ohio location.

Candidate must be willing to travel to our Amherst and/or North Olmsted location when needed.

Candidate must have 3-5 years experience in the medical field providing insurance authorization and front patient intake.

Duties and Responsibilities: Greets patients in polite, prompt, helpful manner.

Perform proper intake of patient information and maintain insurance information and collect any outstanding balances owed.

Answers phones in pleasant manner, deals with customer needs and schedule patients.

Scan documents and collected RX, insurance information, ID and any other necessary paperwork.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.

Learn to use electronic medical record system used for insurance authorization, billing and scheduling.

Maintains clean, orderly waiting area including patient rooms and reading materials Other duties as assigned.

Skills: Knowledge of reception tasks, clinic policies/procedures, and paperwork.

Knowledge of how to use office equipment including phone, computer, fax, printer, email, and copier.

Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques.

Knowledge of business office procedures.

Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type patient information.

Skills in customer service principles by creating a pleasant waiting room atmosphere.

Skills in answering the telephone and using a multi-line telephone system in a pleasant and helpful manner.

Ability to communicate clearly in person and maintain cooperative relationships with patients, families, physicians, staff and other customers.

Ability to read, understand and follow oral written instructions.

Education and Work Experience: High school graduation or GED required Typing ability and Word processing/computer skills.

Minimum of 3-5 year experience in customer medical front office service setting.

Knowledge of health care insurance authorization, scheduling, intake and medical terminology.

Environmental/Working Conditions: Medical office setting, doing front end office work, well-ventilated and well lighted.

Work involves frequent telephone contact with patients, scheduling, insurance authorization and .

Contact involves dealing with patients everyday.
