La Colonia Medical Center

This is a Contract position in Fisher Island, FL posted May 22, 2019.

POSITION SUMMARY : La Colonia Medical Center is seeking a Medical Doctor to serve as a Primary Care Provider (PCP) to conduct primary medical diagnostic and service, refer consultations for specialty care and provide education and preventive care advice to our patients.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Provide diagnosis, treatment, therapy and management of patients according to current standards of care.

· Responsible for accurate, timely, and complete documentation in patient records in accordance with set policies.

· Conduct or direct education effective communications to patients, families, and other health care providers.

· Assess and interpret patients’ data relevant to successful treatment.

· Provide ongoing monitoring of patient; identify deviations from expected progress; assess change in patient status and collaborates with interdisciplinary health care teams as deemed appropriate.

· Prescribe medication in accordance with Florida statute and professional practice guidelines.

· Review incoming reports (e.g., lab, x-ray, EKG) and follow-up in a timely manner to implement the necessary treatment plan.

· Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings to achieve a patient centered, holistic approach for clinical care focusing on continuous improvement of patients’ care plan.

· Provide clinical supervision and appropriate training of ancillary medical staff to assure quality of care for patients in coordination with Clinic Managers and medical staff.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

· Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited school of medicine.

· Board certification in Family Practice or Internal Medicine.

· Current unrestricted Florida Medical License.

· Valid D.E.A.


· Must be able to work with computers and thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office.

· Outstanding communication skills
– verbal and written.

· Must be fluent in spoken and written English/Spanish.

· Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication to deliver a pleasant patient experience.

· Satisfactorily complete background check.
