Medical Billing and Coding Specialist


This is a Full-time position in Yorktown, IN posted July 6, 2021.

A local billing office is growing and seeking to add a positive, detail oriented person to their Medical Billing team in Yorktown, IN!

Position Summary:The Medical Billing and Coding Specialist utilizes knowledge of insurance regulations, health insurance contracts, medical coding, and perform a variety of support activities.

These include but are not limited to medical coding, insurance verification, ensuring the accuracy of the information housed in the data base, posting and managing account payments, submitting accurate claims, and following up on accounts.

Work hours: Monday
– Friday 8:00 am
– 5:00 pm Pay based onexperience

Medical Billing Specialist Responsibilities:
Maintains entering accurate data, verifying and updating insurance and claims information EOB and enter payments received into the system Prepare, review, submit, and follow up with clean claims to various companies/individuals Post and manage patient account payments Follows HIPAA guidelines when accessing and sharing patient information Maintains patient and business confidentiality
Medical Coder Responsibilities:
Assigns CPT and ICD-10 codes Ensures compliance with medical coding policies and guidelines; understands the application of each code set Maintains current knowledge regarding coding and diagnostic procedures Works towards compliance in all aspects of coding, participates in compliance activities as requested All other duties as assigned

High School Diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent Coding Certification a plus Minimum of one (2) years work experience as a Medical Billing/Coding Knowledge of general medical insurance and associated regulations High degree of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects, and deadlines simultaneously and to identify and resolve exceptions and to interpret data proficient in data entry
