MileStone Staffing is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs)!!

Job Location: Pittsburgh, PA Must have a License in Pennsylvania The Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse provides skilled nursing care to the patient as prescribed by the physician and in compliance with regulations established by the State Practical or Vocational Licensing Board, Medicare Conditions of Participation, and policies and procedures of MileStone Staffing Services and client facility.

The LPN/LVN work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse planning and delivery of client care.

Assignment of the LPN/LVN to client facilities shall reflect the highest Standards of Nursing Practice; shall be proactive and reactive to client needs and shall be provided in amanner which promotes quality, continuity, and safety of patient care.

The LPN/LVN may be assigned to give nursing care which does not require the skill and/or judgment of a Registered Nurse.

All duties and responsibilities of the LPN/LVN shall be in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.

When serving the needs of a medical institution, the LPN/LVN follows the LPN/LVN job description and policies and procedures established by that particular facility.

The LPN/LVN is responsible for seeking and obtaining sufficient information necessary to function effectively in the healthcare setting where assigned.

3.

Specific tasks shall include, but are not limited to, the following: a.

Provide nursing care through implementation and evaluation of the client facility’s Nursing Care Plans written by a Registered Nurse.

b.

Contribute to the formulation/revision of Nursing Care Plans under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.

c.

Implement orders for medications and treatments prescribed by the physician in the medical Plan of Treatment.

d.

Be an active member of the healthcare team, assisting the physician and/or Registered Nurse in performing specialized procedures in addition to preparing equipment and materials for treatment and observing aseptic techniques.

e.

Complete, maintain, and submit accurate and complete Clinical and Progress Notes regarding the patient’s condition and care given.

f.

Observe the patient for changes in condition and report these changes and the patient’s needs to the appropriate RN.

g.

Assist the patient with Activities of Daily Living.

h.

Teach the patient and family self-care techniques as appropriate; provide medication, diet, and other instructions as ordered by the physician.

i.

Provide and maintain a safe environment for the patient.

j.

Assist the patient’s family and other healthcare personnel provide continuity of care.

k.

In cooperation with the family and healthcare team members, work to meet the emotional needs of the patient and family.

l.

Accept responsibility of assignment to a specialty area onlywhen qualifyingwith specialty training, proven competency, clinical background, and expertise in the specialty area.

m.

Assume responsibility for personal growth and development; maintain and upgrade professional knowledge and practice skills through attendance and participation in continuing education and in-service classes.

n.

Perform within the limits of preparation and experience.

o.

Fulfill the obligations of requested and/or accepted MileStone Staffing Services assignments.

1.

Graduate of an approved school of practical/vocational nursing or obtained sufficient experience in the U.S.

military medical system or other such program to have been licensed through the challenge process.

2.

Currently licensed through the State Board of Nursing in the state of practice, with the license held in good standing.

3.

At least one year’s experience within the last two years as an LPN/LVN.

Must have experience within the year prior to date of application in the area in which placement is desired (i.e., acute care experience for placement in acute care facilities).

4.

Successfully complete the RN/LPNMedication Test (or specialty care test) with a grade of 80% or better.

5.

Possess and maintain current CPR Certification and other certifications as required in specific clinical areas and/or client facilities.

6.

Have satisfactory references fromNursing School, previous (or current) employers, and /or professional peers.

7.

Have excellent observation, good nursing judgment, and communication skills.

8 Be self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision.

9.

Exhibit professional behavior and attitudes including empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail, and impaired.

10.

Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligations.
