Volunteers of America is looking for a full-time interim nurse leader to join our team!

The ideal candidate will have prior Director of Nursing experience in a long term care setting. This person should be flexible and open to traveling to Colorado and Minnesota. Remote work is also available in between assignments.

Core Responsibilities:Partner with the Vice President of Clinical Services

  • Instructs staff on various federal, state and facility’s regulations, policies and procedures; monitors compliance.
  • Accepts responsibility for the facility in the absence of the Campus Executive Director.
  • Provide coverage for nurse leader roles (Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager, MDS Coordinator) for: Leave of Absence, vacation, and turnover
  • Review resident care plans and audit systems
  • Staff development

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Registered Nurse in the State of Minnesota with minimum of two (2) years experience in nursing supervisory or nursing management in a long-term care setting or equivalent, ability to become licensed in the State of Colorado within 90-days.
  2. Demonstrates knowledge of long-term care, gerontology, rehabilitative, and medical-surgical nursing care, Antibiotic Stewardship, Infection Prevention and Infection Control.
  3. Knowledge of State and Federal regulatory requirements for long-term care.
  4. Understanding of current Infection Prevention and Control and OSHA guidelines.
  5. Knowledge of QAA/QAPI theory and process.
  6. Knowledge of MDS process.
  7. Must be willing to work in facilities that are following infection control precautions and regular testing for COVID-19.
  8. Must be licensed or willing to get licensed primarily in CO & MN, and possibly the other states that VOA operates facilities in the future
