Description

This is a 12-month Faculty position at the Arkansas Environmental Training Academy. The primary function of this position is to coordinate and teach in the Academy’s Environmental Health & Safety Program division. This position serves under to the Director of the Arkansas Environmental Training Academy or his designee.

Examples of Duties

Specifically, the position will include but not be limited to the following duties:

  1. Develop and/or Revise Environmental Health & Safety curriculums to keep current with changing technologies and state and federal regulatory requirements.
  2. Teach Environmental Health & Safety courses on-campus, off-campus, by alternative methods of delivery (Zoom/Internet, etc.).
  3. Coordinate with the prospective Industry groups and AETA clients to develop and deliver training statewide.
  4. Attend meetings, trainings, workshops, seminars, and conferences as requested.
  5. Perform other related duties as may be assigned.

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. 5 years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety related field.
  2. Knowledge of safety rules, regulations and procedures.
  3. Capable of training in all areas of Safety, such as Hazwoper, OSHA, DOT Hazardous material transportation, etc.
  4. Be knowledgeable of PPE used in environmental clean-up activities.
  5. Must possess the ability to develop and deliver training to students and industry groups.
  6. Background check required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Associate’s or Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science, Safety, Physical Science, or Chemistry.
  2. Teaching experience with curriculum development and delivery.
