Division Chief – Pediatric Hematology-Oncology

This is a Contract position in Albany, NY posted July 31, 2019.

Applications are invited for a full-time faculty position in to join us as Chief of the Division of Hematology and Oncology in the Department of Pediatrics at the Bernard & Millie Duker Children�s Hospital at Albany Med.�� This position also entitles the chosen faculty member to hold the Landis Endowed Chair of Pediatric Oncology and an appointment as Professor of Pediatrics at the Albany Medical College.� This individual will be joining 5 additional faculty in a well-established and donor-supported program at the Melodies Center with specialty clinics in Oncology, Sickle Cell, Hemophilia, Survivorship, and Neuro-Oncology.� This signature program of the Children�s Hospital serves over 700,000 children from 25 counties in upstate New York and western Massachusetts and is the only specialty clinic of its kind in the region.� The faculty hold academic appointments at the Albany Medical College and actively participate in teaching of residents and medical students daily.� We evaluate approximately 70 new cancer diagnoses annually and see more than 5700 outpatient visits in the outpatient offices.�� We are full members of COG and ATHN and participate in funding initiatives through both organizations.

Albany Medical Center Hospital is a large academic Medical Center in Albany, New York, the state capital.

It is a level I Trauma Center and the regional hub for all adult and pediatric specialties.

The Bernard and Millie Duker Children�s Hospital, which houses a 60 bed NICU, 19 bed PICU, and a new pediatric emergency department that opened in 2018, is the site of inpatient care rendered by the division.
