– Financial Planning & Decision Support Position Highlights: The Department of Financial Planning and Decision Support is a collaborative, data driven team who, through the use of technology, facilitates decision making throughout Rush in support of its mission, vision, values and strategies.

The Director, Decision Support Analytics, will report directly to the Associate Vice President of Decision Support, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Director of Knowledge Management and is responsible for the oversight, management, and development of business intelligence and analytics solutions, including collaboration with Information Services on the database architecture and data integrity.

The Director, Decision Support Analytics, is responsible for working with departmental leadership in designing analytic solutions that provide mechanisms for dissemination of data and information to clinical and operational leaders throughout the Institution.

Position Responsibilities: Creating and expanding the capabilities of BI technologies that deliver enterprise-wide reporting and analytics of the Financial Planning and Decision Support team.

In partnership with AVP and clinical/operational leadership, develops standard service line report package, and tools for self-service reporting and analysis.

Works collaboratively with departments and administrators throughout the Medical Center for successfully supporting the use of data for improved decision
– making.

Implementation and maintenance of the technical infrastructure to support business intelligence.

Continuous collaboration with IT in the development and evolution of infrastructure and tools.

Creates queries, programs, and systematic processes to support data analyses for the Decision Support and Financial Planning Team.

Assists with the development of visualizations for use in reporting.

Assists with architecture, design, deployment and support of all components of data management solutions, including data modeling, data integration, data management, data transformation and delivery/visualization tools.

Assist with development of standards for the form, structure and attributes of the business intelligence tools.

Recommends and implements best practices in business intelligence.

Trains and educates intra/inter departmental users on use of tools.

Supervise departmental staff to help achieve their established goals and to support the execution of the duties and responsibilities of the team, including the data compilation for Clinical Resource Management meetings and associated analytics.

Responsible for assuring data validation and accuracy.

Acts as a responsible data curator, advocating for and participating in required Data Governance activities.

Provides oversight and management to report developers and analysts.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications Include: Master’s degree in Information System, Business or related field.

Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience will be considered.

8-10 years of experience in healthcare analytics, including cost accounting, service line profitability and dashboard reporting.

Strong analytical and technical expertise in developing business intelligence solutions/tools/reports.

Ability to work independently and as a leader/member of a team.

Excellent conceptual, analytical and quantitative skills.

Ability to translate business needs into reporting solution.

Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership, and clinical/non-clinical management and staff.

Able to present complex information in an understandable and compelling manner Demonstrated proficiency writing SQL stored procedures or queriesTechnology/Tools (Command on the tools below is required): Expertise with Business Objects Enterprise portfolio of products, Microsoft Business intelligence tools, Tableau, or Crystal Report Experience with Epic’s Cogito Reporting Suite Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Tableau client SSIS package development using Visual Studio Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 and above Experience with Data Governance and DevOps operations and tools preferred Familiarity with big-data and advanced analytics tools and languages such as Microsoft Azure, Hadoop, Spark, R, Python Preferred Disclaimer: The above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this job.
