Dental Scribe and Personal Assistant

Northern Virginia Periodontics, PLLC

This is a Contract position in Falls Church, VA posted May 13, 2019.

I am the co-owner of a busy, top ranked periodontal and dental implant practice in downtown Falls Church, VA, and have been in practice for 23 years.

I am in need of an organized, bright, energetic, happy, computer literate, well-spoken scribe (personal administrative assistant) to help maximize efficiency and use of time.

A self starter with high initiative is a must.

Excellent communication, computer and written and grammatical skills essential for what will be an evolving position.

The candidate will be the first to have this title in the practice, so part of the job will be to create a job checklist, and standard operating procedural manual/job description for the position.

All general secretarial duties will be required.

Key to the position will be ensuring that all daily correspondence that is generated for every patient be immediately and efficiently completed to allow the doctor 100% focus on patient care, to free up time for more productive activities, and for making sure that every patient interaction is promptly documented and moved forward.

Additionally, handling my professional and personal calendar including scheduling and coordinating travel, meetings, will be critical.

Staying nearby/shadowing throughout the day to overhear most all interactions, both in person and on the phone, with staff, coowners, colleagues and referrals, and to then help with proper organization and implementation of information and action plans through scheduling and followup will be central to the job as well.

Other tasks will include assisting with powerpoint presentation prep, organizing data and photos of various surgical procedures, Also, conducting research for a variety of business and personal projects will be requested.

Dentists are not effective when they have to double as administrators.

This a unique way to break into the rewarding and vertically mobile field of dentistry, or to prepare for a career in medicine/dentistry.

This could also be viewed as a long-term, stable position with traditional perks/benefits and a reasonable work schedule that mimics the doctor schedule (about 155-170 days per year).

College education preferred.

Job Type: Full-time Salary: $30,000.00 to $40,000.00 /year
