DetailsPatient Care Associate (CNA/PCA)All Inpatient areas of Medical CenterFull Time, Part Time, PRNDays, Nights, Evenings, Weekends, and VariableSummaryThe inpatient CNA/PCA works under the supervision and direction of the Director, RN, LPN, or Provider.

Administers quality patient care according to established standards.

May be required to work in other areas according to skill of staff and acuity of patients.

Provides exceptional service to all patients and customers.

This position is employed by Mosaic Health System.Inpatient Areas include:2 South (Oncology) This is a 16 bed unit that gets to know their patients on a very personal level.2 East (Neuromuscular Skeletal/ Surgical Overflow) This is a 30 bed with orthopedic, neurology, and medical surgery with diverse patient needs.3 East (Cardiovascular) This is a 48 bed cardiac, thoracic, stroke, and respiratory step down unit.

All patients on this unit are on telemetry.ROCU (Rapid Observation Care Unit) This is a 20 bed unit with lower acuity patients that need to be cared for 24-48 hours.3 North (Medical Telemetry/Medical Surgery Overflow) This is a 28 bed med surg unit caring for patients with a variety of medical ailments from respiratory, chest pain, wounds, renal failure, & stroke.Float Pool Supports all the inpatient units and is responsible to staff overflow units when open.4 East (Surgical) This is a 32 bed unit caring for general surgery, gynecology, urology, bariatric surgery and medical patients.4 East (Specialty Step Down-SSDU) This is a 16 bed unit providing stepdown care to the general surgery, trauma and bariatric surgery population.

May also care for medical patients with mainly wound or respiratory issues.

We will host group interviews with various leaders of the Medical Center for openings in these areas.DutiesCompletes daily activities of daily living to meet patient’s needs i.e.

personal hygiene, dressing patients, linen change.Takes and records vital signs including pulse oximetry.Transports patients as appropriate.Collects and transports urine, stool and sputum samples for testing when assigned; completes Point of Care testing.Observes and reports changes in patient’s condition to nurse.QualificationsHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED).

PCA education requirements: a.an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) training program in the last three years, orb.a fundamentals of nursing course, orc.a certified nursing assistant program with obtainment of certification (C.N.A.), ord.a graduate of a professional or practical nursing program who did not pass the state licensure examination in the past three years ore.A graduate of a professional or practical nursing program outside the United States and awaiting licensure in this countryBLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.In lieu of a.
