What You Will Do As an associate with St.

John Health-MI, you will have the opportunity to assure the appropriate selection, dosing, administering, and dispensing of medication orders in specialized areas, such as nuclear medicine, oncology, cardiology.

Serves as a subject matter expert in pharmacy discipline and provides guidance across pharmacies and to clinical leadership.:Review and assess medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential and actual drug related problems.Recommend formulary alternatives when appropriate.Compound and dispense medications for accurate delivery to patients.

Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients.Communicate with physicians and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate care.Oversee technical personnel who assist in the preparation, maintenance, and dispensing of medications and supplies.Assist with academic functions such as serving as a preceptor for pharmacy students.

May float to provide coverage of pharmacy needs.

Provides patient counseling when required.

Primary duties will include medication management of inpatient oncology-hematology patients.

Individual will assist with order development and standardization for both inpatient and outpatients.

Specialist will interact with physician, mid-level practioners and nurses to optimize the care and management of hematology oncology patients.

to develop relations with the outpatient clinics and explore expanding ambulatory services within physician practices.

What You Will Need Licenses/Certifications/Registration:Required Credential(s):One or more of the following:Pharmacist specializing in Prescriptive Authority obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:Diploma Bachelor’s degree required Master’s degree preferredWork Experience:None required.
