If this describes you, you may be the right candidate for the Clinical Research Assistant position with the Department of Psychiatry Research.

Position Summary: The Autism Assessment, Research, Treatment and Services (AARTS) Center at Rush University Medical Center is a newly developed integrated autism program with a mission to provide comprehensive assessment and treatment programming for individuals across the lifespan diagnosed with ASDs.

The center is seeking a research assistant interested in joining this growing program to help support studies aimed at investigating treatments for individuals with autism spectrum disorder.

Studies include federally funded as well as those funded by private foundations which are investigator initiated projects as well and industry sponsored trials.

Position Responsibilities: Collects routine data in support of research projects under direct supervision.

Recruits participants for clinical trials and schedules study visits.

Transcribes and codes data, enters data into electronic database, assists with data analysis and with the preparation of reports and manuscripts.

Assists the Research Director with grant preparation/submission and administering questionnaires.

Maintains and orders supplies.

Provides general administrative support.

Assists study coordinators with research studies.

Coordinates collection and mailing of biological samples for laboratory analysis in compliance with research standards and protocols.

Manages the study “lab” equipment and supplies to ensure appropriate supplies and assessments are available and equipment is in working order.

May conduct literature reviews on assigned topics and prepares synthesis of findings in a report.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications Include: Bachelor’s Degree required.

1 year of research experience in psychology or related field.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Experience with people who have developmental disabilities, preferred.

Proficient with Microsoft Office
· Strong attention to detail, accuracy of data input, and ability to meet deadlines.

Strong organizational and project management skills.
