Clinical laboratory technologist/associate

This is a Full-time position in Birmingham, AL posted July 25, 2019.

Responsibilities:Perform complex testing and advise in the optimization of laboratory operationsDemonstrate commitment to quality and continuous improvementAssist in the revision and writing of SOPs as neededAssist in the training and development of new team membersWork in the establishment and completion of Research and Development ProjectsBe a trusted team member; provide assistance and direction, as needed, per the discretion of the Chief Scientific Officer and Laboratory Supervisor.Operate automated handling platforms for sample processing and work to assess and maintain robotic performanceOperate DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, NGS analysis and quantification instrumentsAct as a liaison for the laboratory as needed.

Assist sales representatives, clients, and research partners with the understanding of Circulogene’s technologyParticipate in continual education and maintain an understanding of emerging fields in biotechnologyFlexibility to cover scheduling gaps as needed and to be included in the on-call rotation for additional weekend and/or holiday technical support.Qualifications:At least 2 years of experience working in a regulated laboratory environmentKnowledge and hand-on experience working with DNA/RNA manipulation, PCR, sequencing techniques, and enzymatic reactionsExtensive knowledge of laboratory safety protocolsFamiliarity with high throughput platforms and common molecular laboratory equipment (pipettes, thermocyclers, liquid handlers etc.)Experience with Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)Experience with ensuring and maintaining integrity and quality of the lab (sample processing, equipment, SOPs)Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to design and validate new assays in appropriate timeframesEducation:BS in Biological or Life Science with minimal 1 year of lab experience; experience in a CLIA/CAP high complexity testing lab will be a plus
