Business Development Sr. Manager, Respiratory Therapy

The Job Responsibilities

The Business Development Manager-Stimit Endeavor will drive product, positioning, and sales/market objectives for the Stimit product and solutions within Draeger’s BU Therapy/Respiratory Care division.

This role will be an integral member of the Stimit team that is tasked with development of new therapy to improve critical care patients through identification of market trends, co-development and execution of strategic plans (including alignment with payment and reimbursement models) and ensuring sales/applications support.

This is a hands-on role, with emphasis on both strategic marketing (analyzing market trends, revenue opportunity, strategic planning), as well as responsibility for the tactical execution of actions required in launching a new solution offering to the market.

As market acceptance is prepared for, the Business Development Manager will develop the Go-to-Market strategy to meet specific growth expectations.

This individual will interface with departments across Draeger on global and regional levels, as well as with third party companies, in concert with the Clinical Support and Trials Manager for new product development.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Itemize the separate duties, responsibilities, and expected outcomes of the job.

    Fully detail each major task or responsibility necessary to effectively perform the job function.

    The responsibilities are ranked from those with the most crucial deliverables to those which are more routine.

    The number of tasks or responsibilities listed should not exceed eight.

  • Responsible for establishing new and emerging therapy to prevent diaphragm atrophy and dysfunction of mechanically ventilated patients.
  • Consult with management for strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members and customers (ie: Respiratory Therapists, Physicians, Hospital Purchasing, Coding/Controlling, etc.) to build and advance a viable pay-per-therapy business model.

    This may include understanding of product use patterns, customer groups, and market engineering for a product to enable new therapy.

  • Further develop the business case based on cross-functional requirements such as clinical evidence, regulatory pathway, and regional-specific market conditions.

    Collaborates the integration of external product into Draeger sales and marketing processes and structures.

    This also includes a deep understanding of reimbursement schemes to create additional market demand and attractiveness of new therapy, including the development to financial analysis sales tools to support data driven analytics.

  • Maintains database of competitors and monitor the market to stay abreast of business development risks and opportunities.

    Ensure support of pricing, quote tools, and strategic account support.

  • Nurture industry relationships that are sources of product and market innovation in phrenic nerve/diaphragm stimulation.

    Build and leverage a network with competitors and their venture capital investors and entrepreneurial groups to ensure the information flow of novel research and technology initiatives/studies that are in line with Stimit’s mission.

  • Ensure collaboration with Respiratory Device, HCA, Service marketing teams and working in tandem with finance and sales/applications to secure business revenue objectives.
  • Performs other duties as needed and assigned.

Your Qualifications


Bachelor of Science Respiratory Care or equivalent.

MBA preferred.

Related Experience:

8+ years of business development or marketing.

Clinical experience in critical care focused on mechanical ventilation.
