We are seeking experienced and highly motivated Assistant Professor to be a part of Rush University.

Position Highlights: As a member of the faculty in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS), this individual teaches, conducts scholarly activity/research, and may provide indirect patient service.

The faculty member’s annual assignment is negotiated with the Chairperson and is based on the needs of the program.

As a Rush employee, the individual exemplifies the Rush mission, vision, and values and its practitioner-teacher model.

The individual acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Position Responsibilities: Involved in delivery of MLS and/or Clinical Laboratory Management curriculum as a didactic or laboratory course director/co-director as assigned.

Develop, deliver and evaluate on-line or on-campus instruction, to include course goals, objectives, learning activities and student evaluation methods (examinations, projects, assignments, etc.).

Develop research/scholarly output, that is in keeping with this academic rank.

Serve as an effective academic advisor to MLS and/or Clinical Laboratory Management students.

Provide indirect clinical services as appropriate.

Pursue extramural funding for research as appropriate Direct student investigative projects or theses.

Participate at faculty and staff meetings; chair and serve on committees as assigned.

Enthusiastically contribute to service for the Department, University, Medical Center, Rush community, and profession.

Other duties that may arise.

Position Qualifications Include: Doctoral degree in a field related to medical laboratory science preferred; Master’s degree required Demonstrated research and teaching potential Certification as MLS(ASCP) or MT(ASCP) required 3-5 years of teaching experience in higher education Extensive knowledge of educational issues and trends in the health sciences Excellent working knowledge and experience with PowerPoint, MS Office, Excel and web applications for distance learning Experience with health professions and college professional programs Company Highlights: Ranked among the top academic medical centers in the country, Rush University Medical Center is an outstanding place to enhance your career.
