Type: Full-time
Pay: $44/hr
Location: West of Collingwood, ON
Hours: 40+ hours per week

RPI is actively looking for a passionate Pharmacist to work at a retail pharmacy west of Collingwood, ON. The pharmacy always puts the patient, pharmacist, staff, and the needs of the community first and foremost. Our client offers $44 an hour with 2 weeks vacation, an incentive program on professional services (10% – 10K, 15% – 15K, 20% – 20K and above) and full benefits (health, dental, and vision). The successful candidate must have solid working knowledge of Nexxsys while working 40 hours per week (or more) with a flexible schedule, and no overnights. As a pharmacist, you will dispense medications, counsel patients on the use of prescription and over-the-counter medications, and advise physicians about medication therapy. You will also advise patients about general health topics, such as diet, exercise, and stress management, and provide information on products, such as durable medical equipment or home healthcare supplies.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review and execute physician’s prescriptions checking their appropriateness and legality
  • Organize the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster
  • Maintain full control over delivering, stocking and labeling medicine and other products and monitor their condition to prevent expiring or deterioration
  • Listen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues and offer information and advice
  • Provide assistance other medical services such as injections, blood pressure/ temperature measurements etc.
  • Prepare medicine when appropriate using correct dosages and material for each individual patient
  • Keep records of patient history and of all activities regarding heavy medication
  • Keep abreast of advancements in medicine by attending conferences and seminars and collaborating with other healthcare professionals
  • Comply with all applicable legal rules, regulations and procedure

Skills and Qualifications

  • Licensed Pharmacist in Ontario
  • Previous pharmacy experience would be considered an asset
  • Pharmacy operating systems experience is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work within a team setting
