The Personal Support Worker will assist clients in all aspects of activities of daily living to support the desire of our clients to remain within their home and within their community setting.  

The successful Personal Support Worker will have:

  • A proven track record of being accountable for multiple deliverables, reporting and high- quality performance
  • Outstanding focus to safety and ethical standards
  • An ability to build and maintain customer satisfaction at all times
  • Experience in independent problem solving and recognizing  when support from peers and supervisors is needed
  • A Personal Support Worker Certificate from a recognized institution in the province of Ontario

The role will require:

  • Participation in all aspects of personal client care to ensure the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of each client and family member are met under the direction of the direct Supervisor and the Care Plan.
  • Utilizing therapeutic communication by establishing a collaborative working relationship with the client and families for the purpose of meeting the clients needs; ensuring respect, dignity and individuality of each client.
  • Observing and assessing clients behaviours and activities and reporting any changes or unusual events to the direct Supervisor.
  • Participation in multidisciplinary team work as required (Staff meetings, educational events and case conferences as required)
  • Physical lifting abilities
  • Other duties as assigned, required by the direct Supervisor or Care Plan
