The Personal Support Worker will assist clients in all aspects of activities of daily living to support the desire of our clients to remain within their home and within their community setting.  

The successful Personal Support Worker will have:

  • Demonstrated excellence in assessment and direct client care
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with both a flexible and adaptable approach
  • Energetic, enthusiastic and a willingness to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Graduate from a recognized accredited School of Nursing and have a current (practicing) Registration, as a Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario. 
  • Must have Completed 75% of the ET or WOCN certificate and has a minimum of 3 years experience in the community or acute care setting with a focus on wound care.


The role will require:

  • Utilizes the nursing process effectively in order to provide high quality nursing care for clients and/or caregivers in all client situations
  • Promotes the independence of clients and caregivers considering their needs, strengths and weaknesses
  • Utilizes available resources for problem solving
  • Facilitates clients/caregivers problem solving and access to appropriate resources and participation in decision-making
  • Contributes to the empowerment of vulnerable clients by advocating
  • Communicates effectively with nursing supervisors and co-workers through scheduled meetings and informal means
  • Maintains current competence and obtains advanced or specialized nursing skills to meet care needs of clients
